Aethon Energy Operating LLC’s (“Aethon”) Revenue Manager will lead the revenue accounting department in the monthly processing of oil and gas revenue in a multi-entity environment. This will include accurate and timely payment/filing of royalty distributions, state severance taxes, and ONRR and state royalties, as well as account reconciliations and P&L analysis. The Revenue Manager will also work closely with the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer to improve processes, system utilization, and internal controls related to the revenue function.
DUTIES & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Mentor and provide guidance to revenue staff
· Maintain controls within the revenue department, as well as address any deficiencies
· Review monthly allocation of gas and oil revenue
· Review and post operated and non-operated revenue
· Collaborate with production accounting and the midstream department to ensure accurate production and sales volumes
· Reconcile gathering and compression fees charged by midstream group
· Ensure accurate and timely payment state severance taxes and ONRR and state royalties
· Ensure state severance tax exemptions are filed timely
· Perform account reconciliations for revenue, royalty and tax accounts
· Assist with owner inquiries
· Update gas imbalance schedules
· Assist with financial audit requests
· Manage ONRR and state tax audits
· Complete other special projects and assignments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Work Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· Minimum ten years of progressive experience in E&P revenue accounting, including at least three years in a management role
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
· Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
· Strong analytical and organizational skills required
· Strong Excel proficiency required
· Enertia oil and gas accounting software experience preferred
· ONRR reporting experience a plus
Personal & Soft Skills:
· Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams to improve efficiencies
· Commitment to meeting ongoing operational deadlines
· Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to manage change and growth within the team and with peers
Physical & Other Requirements:
· Must be eligible to work in the United States
· Successful candidate will be able to meet company standard background check specific to individual role prior to employment and will be subject to Company Drug & Alcohol Program
· Position is an indoor office position which will require remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time
