Job Description:On behalf of our client in the US, Affinity is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer (5-7+ years) with a focus on Xilinx platforms. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced satellite communication systems designed to expand global connectivity. This role is onsite in Redmond, Washington, and due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Responsibilities:• Design and develop software for complex, mission-driven embedded systems using Linux or real-time operating systems (RTOS) on Xilinx platforms.• Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of software on both the software and FPGA (field-programmable gate array) sides to ensure robust performance in high-demand applications.• Perform board support package (BSP) and hardware bring-up for Xilinx-based System-on-Chips (SoCs).• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges, optimize system integration, and enhance performance.• Document development processes, contributing to software quality assurance and maintaining high standards.Required Skills:• 5-7+ years of experience in Linux/RTOS on Xilinx SoCs.• Advanced knowledge of BSP, Yocto build systems, and FPGA programmable logic.• Proficiency in device interfaces, such as I2C, SPI, and CAN, with experience on Xilinx Versal and UltraScale+ devices.• Ability to develop on-device software and automated testing infrastructure for advanced embedded applications, suitable for secure, high-reliability deployments.Affinity Earn:Know someone who’s great for this, or any of our open roles?
