Following a remarkable $425 million renovation, Frenchman's Reef has swiftly made its mark in the Group market, boasting an impressive 40,000 group room nights booked in our inaugural year. With a total of 486 rooms, including 30 luxurious suites, and an expansive 70,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor event spaces, Frenchman's Reef has become a magnet for top-tier meetings and incentive programs in the industry. The Director of Events will spearhead a team dedicated to enhancing overall meeting planner satisfaction, achieving financial targets within their domains, ensuring employee contentment, and overseeing departmental payroll management.
With a variety of unique outdoor meeting spaces, handling groups as large as 700pp, this position lends itself to a highly creative individual who takes pride in thinking “outside the box”. This position will work closely with all departments, to assure every detail from pre-arrival to post-departure runs smoothly and exceeds the client’s expectations.

This role will report directly to the General Manager of the resort
Responsibilities
Education & Experience
• Marriott experience, and knowledge of CI/TY, is mandatory
• Upscale Resort, Caribbean and/or Luxury experience is a must
• Experience with high-end Incentive, Financial, Insurance groups, and top third-party meeting planners is a must.
• At least 6 years of progressive hotel convention services experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
• Demonstrate creativity and knowledge of food and beverage/events
• Must have a valid driver’s license in the applicable
• Must possess highly developed verbal & written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate
• Must have thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing
• Shows strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate deployment
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
• Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
• Strong organization and presentation skills
• Must be able to work effectively in a matrixed environment by relying on your ability to communicate, collaborate, and influence others. • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession.

Job Duties & Functions
• Effectively manages assigned meeting planner satisfaction scores, revenue goals, as well as food and beverage overall goals and minimums.
• You are a leader who thrives in growing and developing the team. Building Talent is an expectation as a leader and as someone who helps identify internal talent.
• Understand the content reflected in sales contracts and how to upsell F&B.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Manage and lead all departmental meetings to include Resume, BEO, Scrub Meetings and daily Line-Ups.
• Complete the weekly forecasting in A3 as it relates to Banquets &
• Adheres to Aimbridge Hospitality’s established regulations, company standards, catering/meeting standards and related catering sales metrics.
• Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable
• Demonstrates ability to deliver banquet event orders on a timely basis (10 days) and ensure
• Ensure changes are communicated timely to impacted departments/operations
• Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations, as
• May assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments i.e. sales blitzes, etc.
• Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by
• Maintains professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication relationships to achieve initiatives with respective marketing partner(s) and other internal departments (i.e. Second Wave, Aimbridge Digital, or Branded field marketing), as applicable.
• Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager.
