The Community You Will Join: 

Localization at Airbnb has fast evolved from being managers of translation services to managing all aspects of Airbnb international launches. We partner with the launching teams across all content at Airbnb and have also launched complex core product capabilities like Translation Engine (Airbnb specialized machine translation service) across all product flows with user-generated content.

We are continuing our investment in hiring internationalization experts that can sit at the table with cross-functional teams across Airbnb - Product Managers, Designers, UX Writers, Data Scientists, Product and Internationalization Engineering, Marketing, vendor project managers, QA Managers, to plan and design internationalized and localizable products in addition to supporting their translation needs.

The Difference You Will Make:

You project manage the timely and accurate localization of all assets and content for the projects in your portfolio.
Your work is carried out in close partnership with Senior and Lead Localization PMs in the Localization Program Management team, with whom you will share responsibility for parts of larger programs. This role also partners with Airbnb’s product, marketing and tech PMs to collaborate on deliverables and timelines. This role will influence content, design, and internationalization - all aspects need to be ready for the target markets.

A Typical Day: 

  • Partner with all internal Airbnb teams and functions as well as our Translation and Localization QA vendors to launch world-class globalized product features, community support content, and marketing content that are culturally-relevant and linguistically-appropriate.
  • Manage localization project and program timelines.
  • Integrate international requirements by partnering with the existing network of in-country Language Managers, and local Marketing Managers.
  • Contribute to process optimization to deliver high quality, cost-effective, and time efficient product localization.

Your Expertise:

  • 5+ years in Localization Program Management, or equivalent roles, helping core product and marketing teams to successfully launch internationally.
  • The ideal candidate has experience as a full-time employee on the client-side.
  • Previous experience with new products, new features launches, and with launches that expand the language and/or market scope for the product and/or company.
  • Knowledgeable about internationalization requirements, comfortable to review product design and copy in design tools (e.g. Figma) and recommend best fit for the localized product.
  • Experience in establishing processes, developing relationships, and managing a portfolio of end-to-end concurrent programs.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote OR Canada (Pacific Time Zone States/Provinces) Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (if US based) OR in a province where Airbnb Canada, Inc. has a registered entity (if Canada based). How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
