M1 Support Services LP is looking for an AIRCRAFT STRUCTURES ENGINEER – Fighter/Trainer Aircraft (A 10, F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, T-38, T-6, T-1) based in its Denton TX Home Office with frequent travel to Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX and Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, MS. Position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reviews TO 00-25-107 submissions and responses.
o Partner with SPO Engineering groups and Government Quality Assurance
o Propose technically sound dispositions that match capabilities of shop and work force
- Develops new or improved aircraft components/structures/repairs on program assigned aircraft fleets in accordance with Program Work Statements, Army, USAF, USN, FAA, industry standards, and company policies.
- Analyzes technology, resource needs, and maintenance demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Plans and directs the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of aircraft components and equipment.
- Authors and reviews updates and corrections to technical orders.
- Create and/or work with CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA) to create tooling as required to facilitate maintenance.
- Develop technical documentation including presentations, reports, drawings, and other engineering data.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease cycle time and streamline workflow processes.
- Develops and sustains a culture of safety, quality compliance, and professionalism.
- Ensures compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures, and company policies relating to airfield operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of liaison or repair engineering experience of aircraft structures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; preferably Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Specific knowledge of aircraft structural configuration, structural load path, design of repairs, standard repairs, repair methods, repair materials, sheet metal, machining, and composites.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance and quality control procedures in an USAF aviation environment. Line maintenance and intermediate maintenance experience preferred.
- Familiarity with USAF Engineering, IETMs, AFTO Form 22, and Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and technology
- Must possess competent computer skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must be able to move about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
- Able to obtain/maintain DOD Secret clearance.
Work Environment will vary but include:
- Traditional office setting with extensive sitting and use of computer and other office equipment • Travel to company worksites which include military bases.
- At worksites, environment includes hangars and flight lines with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking demands.
