The French public sector represents c.5 million people, accounting for 1 in 5 workers in France.
Following a 2019 public sector reform law, a significant change in complementary health insurance for civil servants was introduced. By 2026, public employers across all sectors will be required to contribute at least 50% to their employees’ health insurance premiums. This reform aims to align the public sector with private-sector health insurance practices, enhancing coverage and reducing out-of-pocket costs for civil servants.
This presents a unique opportunity for Alan to provide innovative, delightful health insurance solutions to millions of civil servants. We've already had a successful start by being chosen as the partner to several ministries and administrations (Assemblée Nationale, Ministère de la Transition Écologique, Services du Premier Ministre), and are looking to sustainably partner with more, across Fonction Publique d’Etat, Fonction Publique Territoriale, and Fonction Publique Hospitalière.
Since 2022, our public sector team has evolved from being a bet into becoming the most significant driver of Alan’s growth. Recent successes have demonstrated the value of Alan's offer and its unique experience in addressing high-volume collective contracts.
Looking ahead to 2025, our ambition remains high as we seek to expand our presence in this crucial market.
As our Public Sector field marketer, you will play a crucial role in expanding Alan's presence across various public sector segments. Your primary objective will be to create and develop relationships with different actors from the public sector, further establishing Alan as a key player in this market.
Your missions will include prospection, relationship building, providing inputs to RfP answers, and gathering competitive intelligence and market insights to influence our strategy.
Prospection and relationship building
Developing a comprehensive territory planning to identify and target key entities within the public sector ;
Engaging with key decision-makers and influencers to present Alan's unique value proposition ;
Representing Alan at industry fairs and events to expand our network ;
Providing market insights and competitive intelligence to inform Alan's public sector strategy.
Request for Proposal identification and support
Leveraging relevant tools and government databases (Boamp, France Marchés…) to identify, source and track opportunities.
Providing inputs to support the team on RfP answers.
The role will involve national travels within France on a monthly basis.
We are seeking a person with a unique blend of creativity, sales appetite, entrepreneurial spirit, and public sector understanding/interest.
You would be a great fit at Alan if most of this sounds like you:
At least 7 years of experience;
A proven ability to manage C-level (or equivalent) discussions and influence key decision-makers, with a high level of formalism ;
Excellent written and oral communication skills (including in formal contexts) ;
Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced and intense environment ;
Collaborative and creative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across various teams and communities ;
Strong networking skills ;
Confident in public speaking, including addressing large audiences;
Strong desire to understand the French public sector structure, procurement processes, and key stakeholders ;
Insurance and legal knowledge is a plus.
