Sr. Principal Software Engineer

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our Software Development and Medical Digital Solutions Tools and Processes group. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development, web development, development process automation, DevOps, software tool integration, project leadership and product ownership. In this role, a typical day will include.

Provide technical leadership to international team of software engineers and developers.
Design and implement apps that support the productivity of the SDMDS team.
Develop and maintain process automation tools.
Act as a Scrum Master and/or Product Owner for the team.
Partner with stakeholders from SDMDS and ITCI to define tools and process strategy.
Lead implementation of tools and process strategy with custom integration solutions as needed.
Identify and implement process improvements, at times partnering with consultants.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs;Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
7 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in software development with proven track record of successfully delivering software in an Agile/Scrum environment throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
Strong knowledge of software architecture and web development.
Experience with process automation and CI/CD processes.
Experience with multiple programming and scripting languages and environments.
