Regional Quality Manager

The Role: 

We are looking for an experienced Regional Quality Manager to join our team at Aldinger Co, a leading accredited calibration service provider. This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the business by becoming part of our small but mighty Quality Team. This team ensures our commitment to delivering world-class calibration and certification services that consistently meet and exceed the expectations and requirements of our customers. 

As the Regional Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance/control systems and processes across multiple branches within your assigned region. You will be tasked with ensuring our company standards are within compliance with national and international regulatory requirements and best practices, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include managing, documenting, analyzing, and monitoring quality systems and initiatives across branches, as well as ensuring that necessary corrective and preventative actions are taken. 

Location: The ideal candidate is based on the West Coast, as this position will primarily cover branches in Washington, Oregon, and California. 

 

Day to Day Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with the Director of Quality and team of RQMs to develop, implement, and manage a unified Quality program across multiple branches that are accredited by A2LA, ANAB, and NVLAP to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. 
  • Manage quality-related documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. 
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections at assigned branches to assess compliance to ensure quality standards are met and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Participate in Accreditation Assessments at assigned branches. 
  • Report audit findings to appropriate management with requests for root cause analysis and corrective action. 
  • Document and investigate root cause analysis on customer complaints and deviations. 
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions to address nonconformities identified during audits or operations. 
  • Analyze and monitor quality performance metrics and prepare reports on quality metrics to the Branch Managers and Director of Quality. 
  • Prepare and submit reports as required to the Director of Quality. 
  • Oversee the training and competency assessments of lab staff in quality-related areas in assigned branches. 
  • Ensure all quality assurance policies and procedures meet client requirements and enhance client satisfaction. 
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance across all branches. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Located in PST/MST   
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/ quality management, with 2+ years in calibrations or similarly regulated technical environment 
  • Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 calibration laboratory setting 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a quality management system (QMS), conducting audits, and leading quality improvement initiatives 
  • Familiarity with quality management software systems for documentation and process management 
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel 
  • Strong technical background with an ability to read, analyze, and interpret manuals, engineering documents, specifications, procedures, and standards  
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format 
  • Ability to travel as required to conduct audits and training at different branches - up to 50% travel

Nice to have: 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or a related technical field 
  • Successful completion of auditor training, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) from organizations like the American Society for Quality (ASQ) are a plus 
  • Technical knowledge of calibration processes and quality standards 
  • Thorough understanding of calibration processes, equipment, and the technical requirements of a calibration lab 
  • Proficiency in statistical tools and methodologies for quality control and analysis 
  • In-depth knowledge of quality standards relevant to the calibration industry, such as ISO 17025, and understanding how to implement these standards in a laboratory setting 
  • Experience with IndySoft and/or Met/Cal Calibration Software
