Job Title: Quantitative Methodologist
Location: New York, New York
Reporting To: Head of Research Operations
Job Description: The Quantitative Methodologist is a key member of Alger responsible for developing predictive models to process large amounts of data for statistical modeling that identify investment opportunities and trends. The position must work three (3) days of each workweek in New York, NY office; and may telecommute up to two (2) days of each workweek.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring accuracy and applicability of statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data.
- Collecting data to describe, predict, or control variables of interest.
- Cleaning statistical data for analysis.
- Presenting data results to portfolio managers to inform decisions.
- Structuring data warehouse for storage of statistical data.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Master's degree in any quantitative discipline.
- 2 years’ experience: building and maintaining mathematical models for financial valuation of investment assets; extrapolating market modeling and data analyses through mathematical techniques; creating in-house analysis and valuation tools based on primary and alternative data; and summarizing research results for portfolio managers through quantitative reports that identify potentially attractive stocks and risk.
Compensation: Annual Salary offered is $100,600, plus discretionary bonus and outstanding benefits
