Additionally, in 2024 we were awarded the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, which recognizes the most engaged workplace cultures in the world.Summer Intern – Interaction Design-Remote Indiana(Candidate would need to reside in the state of Indiana for accessibility to the Carmel, IN Internship Events)As an Interaction Design Intern, you will assist with Allegion’s Digital Product Design Team by providing assistance with numerous internal and public-facing products. You will be responsible for the delivery of digital design deliverables within Allegion’s Global Software Services team and for partnering with senior design staff to prepare empathy maps, user journeys & flows, content/app inventories, site/app maps, and wireframes. If you are seeking a summer experience that offers meaningful projects, learning opportunities, professional development and an opportunity to build strong relationships with your peers and leaders, Allegion is the right place for you!What You Will Do:• Support innovation through creative application of interaction design and research• Participate in design reviews, critiquing the work of other designers, and collecting feedback on their own work• Work collaboratively with other team members on a capstone project that involves the design and development of an internal digital product• Communicate effectively with design, development, and business partners as appropriate• Help to clarify, identify, and track requirements and project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required• Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion.What You Need to Succeed:• Pursuing a degree in an interaction design related discipline (UX design, computer science, human computer interaction, cognitive psychology), GPA of 3.0 or higher and entering either their Junior or Senior year in the fall of 2025.• Passion for UX/interaction design and design research• An upbeat, positive attitude while enjoying working with an agile team to design innovative solutions to help enable business growth and improve customer satisfaction• Ability to quickly understand new business domains, and be creative and thoughtful about how to use design to improve business processes and user challenges• Ability to quickly prototype concepts that can be used to demonstrate design solutions internally as well as with end users• Familiarity with a variety of digital design and prototyping methods & tools including Sketch, InVision, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Framer-X, HTML/CSS, etc.• Ability to identify issues, generate solutions and work within identified constraints• Effective listening, time management, and creative problem-solving techniques• A strong team-player attitude, delivering on your own responsibilities while being respectful of other team members• A desire to learn, grow, and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion's business and customersOther Preferred Skills and Competencies:• Familiarity with UX research methods including interviewing users and facilitating usability studies• Familiarity with Design Thinking principles• Familiarity with programming concepts & capabilities• Intellectual curiosity and competent communication skillsWhy Work for Us?Allegion is a Great Place to Grow your Career if:• You're seeking a rewarding opportunity that allows you to truly help others.
