Salary Range: $96.9200 - $159.9300 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
The Chief Security Operations Officer (CSO) is r esponsible t o p r o t ect the w ell b eing of patients, physicians, staff, and visitors a t Hoag facilities . Assures overall security of hospital campuses b y o v e r seeing staffing, policies, equipme n t, t r aining, and per f ormance imp r o v eme n t f or mai n t aining an app r opri a t e and s a f e e n vi r onme n t and planning f or incide n ts and eme r g encies. Provides leadership of security officers, oversight of investigations, and partners with all Hoag facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment. Oversees educational outreach to include teaching and training of leadership and staff on topics relating to safety, security, and emergency preparedness.Key Functions Include• Responsible for the planning, design, and execution of a comprehensive facility safety program that reflects best practices in community policing, facility security operations, crime prevention education and outreach. Develops department goals and security priorities.• Organizes, equips and trains security staff to provide security services to the hospital campuses. Develops standards for effective security operations and investigative strategies.• As part of the strategic plan, define issues, appraise situations, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and develop sound, constructive, expert conclusions, recommendations and decisions.• Oversee investigations of an extremely sensitive nature conducted by Security Services personnel. Interface effectively with appropriate offices and Senior Management and determine the need to bring external law enforcement resources into the situation.• Ensures notification, as soon as possible, to law enforcement personnel and other emergency responders to permit a timely response to any suspicious activity, breach of security or security incident.• Oversees issues of physical security with facility departments, working closely with the other departments involved in implementation of building security and access systems.• Develops and maintains effective relationships with external law enforcement agenciesand other government agencies as applicable.• Role will include performing other duties aligned to the areas of specialty and responsibility.Education and Experience• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized experience.• Minimum of ten years’ experience in one of the following areas; laws enforcement, security operations, or emergency management.• Experience in supervising and training employees, including proven ability in organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.• Thorough knowledge of applicable licensing, city, state, federal regulatory standards and requirements, including but not limited to: Management of Aggressive Behavior (or equivalent), Department of Labor, NFPA, Cal-OSHA, CCR Titles 8, 22, and 26 .• Experience in adult education and training programs preferred.• Valid California driver’s license required for those who are authorized to operate Hoag vehicles.• Preferred: Healthcare and/or Security CertificationsThis opportunity offers a highly competitive total compensation package (salary, plus executive bonus structure), benefits, pay continuance for time off, 401K and 457b retirement plans.About The OrganizationHoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is a nonprofit regional health care delivery network in Orange County, California, consisting of three acute-care hospitals with sixteen urgent care centers, eleven health centers and a network of more than1,800 physicians, 100 allied health members, 8,000 employees, and 2,000 volunteers.
