What makes this role exciting and challenging:
The Lead Product Owner (Lead PO) role in Allwyn Lottery Solutions is accountable for leading a team of highly skilled Product Owners managing customer accounts, and ensuring our products deliver maximum value. This role requires strong collaboration and communication skills, along with a blend of business and technical expertise, to drive alignment across product development cycles and Allwyn’s strategic goals.
Key Accountabilities and Duties:
Strategic Leadership & Product Alignment
- Lead Product Owners to ensure their decisions and priorities align with Allwyn’s company strategy and objectives.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, and stakeholders to align the product roadmap with strategic goals and customer value.
- Act as an ambassador for the product, serving as the primary technical contact for product-related queries.
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to focus on high-value work aligned with the product strategy.
Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Foster effective collaboration among Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Delivery Managers to ensure clarity in requirements and technical excellence.
- Enhance transparency and direct communication between tech and business teams.
- Support POs in managing sprint planning, prioritization, and maintaining a well-prioritized backlog to meet delivery objectives.
Product Development Oversight
- Oversee the creation of epics, user stories, and other documentation to guide development teams.
- Ensure detailed specifications for product features are well-defined and clearly understood by development teams.
- Maintain a seamless prioritization, backlog management, and workflow delivery throughout the development lifecycle.
- Lead iteration review and/or demo sessions to present deliverables and gather stakeholder feedback.
- Conduct ABC sessions to accelerate business cases, capturing early high-level estimations for new projects, improvements, and services.
Continuous Improvement & Quality Enhancement
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement, encouraging team growth, agile practices, and a high-quality delivery approach.
- Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations proactively.
- Promote change initiatives to drive cross-functional improvements in efficiency and quality.
- Proactively identify and seize opportunities for improvement and growth
People Management
- Support the professional growth of team members by offering leadership guidance and encouraging the development of Product Owners.
- Review the work of Product Owners to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and high-quality standards.
- Provide regular performance feedback, set clear goals, and support team members in achieving their objectives.
- Take responsibility for the work of team members and effectively manage resource allocation to ensure optimal performance.
Market & Competitive Awareness
- Possess a very good understanding of end to end customer experience integration and dependencies.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform product development and positioning.
- Work with stakeholders during visioning phases to define product direction and long-term strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (postgraduate degree preferred).
- PMI, PMP or relevant project management certifications are a plus
- Advanced process management and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills & interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience in collaboration with local and global teams
- Proficiency in English
Minimum Experience
- 7-8 years of experience as Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Software Engineer within global, complex operations
- Service Management experience within a global setting
- Good understanding of software development and core IT Business Systems
