As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer at Almedia, you will be a strategic leader in maintaining and enhancing the operational workflows of our critical applications and services in a 24x7x365 environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the uptime, resilience, and scalability of our systems as we continue to grow. This role offers a high-impact opportunity to drive substantial reliability improvements and foster a proactive problem-solving culture, effective incident response, and intelligent alerting processes.

What You Would Do 🎯

• Lead collaborations with engineering teams to streamline operational workflows and support critical applications, ensuring seamless 24/7 operations.

• Architect and implement advanced application observability frameworks to maximize infrastructure uptime and reliability.

• Design and spearhead the deployment of sophisticated alerting systems and incident response practices, strengthening our organization's reliability culture.

• Lead efforts to refine incident response protocols, guiding teams through blameless postmortems and optimizing on-call responsibilities.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues within distributed systems at the network, system, and service levels.

• Champion innovative software delivery strategies, including blue-green and canary deployments, to enhance the safety and efficiency of releases.

• Optimize system performance, reduce operational costs, and elevate user experience for millions of customers.

• Collaborate directly with the CTO to align on strategic reliability goals and develop a clear, forward-looking roadmap.

What You Would Bring 💡

• Extensive experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps, with a focus on high-traffic backend systems.

• Expertise in coding with a strong command of programming languages, ideally with proficiency in TypeScript (NestJS on the backend, Next.js/React.js on the frontend).

• Mastery of monitoring and reporting frameworks (e.g., Datadog) to enhance application observability.

• Deep understanding of Linux-based systems and robust troubleshooting skills across applications, networking (TCP/IP), and databases.

• Comprehensive experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab pipelines) and database management systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

• Hands-on experience with incident response, system design, and deployment strategy optimization (canary, blue-green, etc.).
