OVERVIEW 

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is an industry-leading battery metal and critical materials technology development and commercialization company. ABTC partners with the US Government, Local Communities, and Corporations across the world to bring the most impactful closed loop energy projects to life. 

 

ABTC is seeking a Workplace Manager. This is a crucial and strategic role at the company as we start ramping facilities across the United States. This is an opportunity to make an immediate and lasting impact on our ability to ramp up our incredible recycled products.  


ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Workplace Manager owns and drives the repair and maintenance operations needed to meet and exceed the expectations of all our employees daily when it comes to having all our facilities in top condition to work, produce products, and innovate. This individual’s expert management of work order completion demonstrates not only has a thorough understanding of our customers' organization and are aligned with shared goals and objectives resulting in exceptional service, customer retention and satisfaction but that our consultative approach can help save them money and operate more efficiently. 

 






RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leads planning for major and minor remodeling, continuous upgrades to facilities infrastructure, space utilization and other facilities needs for the government.  
  • Assists the construction and programs teams with planning and execution of all phases of equipment, electrical, mechanical, and building systems maintenance, facilities modification and building projects from the design concept through implementation. 
  • Leads Space Demand Forecasting by working with each business unit’s leadership to collect headcount forecasts, resolve headcount forecast discrepancies between leadership’s numbers and those collected at the group-level and serves as a single point of contact for planning related questions within region. 
  • Supports the purchasing and setting up the equipment for New Hires, such as setting up of workstations/work areas at the plant for operations or assists with low level workstation or working area related issues. 
  • Maintains the facility vendors (coffee, market, uniforms, copy machines, shredding, ect) 
  • Recommend, educate, and enforce space policies/standards, procedures and protocols and escalate requested exceptions.       
  • Be a champion of change management for end users - creating, contributing, and maintaining employee resources to navigate workplace strategies (assigned seating, flex seating, hybrid work, etc) 
  • Optimizes facilities through operational reliability and innovative technology while reducing resource consumption. Ensures that all ABTC’s facilities have high quality, customer-focused, and timely services. Completes long-term planning to ensure facility operational continuity and can utilize emerging technologies and other mechanisms to reduce energy and resource use. 
  • Manages Guest management support & Security for ABTC to ensure a safe environment across all ABTC locations. 
  • Manages all inbound and outbound mailings for the facilities (except for the plant) and manages all ABTC’s inbound/outbound accounts for the G&A organization. 
  • Manages and directs incoming vendors/building maintenance, security, or workplace personnel to complete workplace projects on ABTC sites. 


Desired QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum required qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or other appropriate technical area, or an equivalent combination of technical education, training, and experience.  
  • Fifteen years of related, progressively responsible experience requiring extensive leadership and strategic expertise in facilities operations, maintenance, and planning, performing duties similar to those listed above. 
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices in facilities management discipline. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing large facility organizations, or experience in managing a large professional service organization. 
  • Demonstrated experience as an executive level facilities manager with responsibility for developing and mentoring managers and senior professionals. 
  • Advanced knowledge and application of relevant codes, regulations, and processes. 
  • Experience establishing strategic plans to position and organization to be effective towards meeting long-range goals 
  • Experience guiding the development of tactical and operational blueprints and roadmaps that support strategic plans 
  • Experience developing policies and procedures that impact multiple sectors or an entire organization 
  • Evaluate the competitive environment and landscape to assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats/risks to the organization and adjust plans to position the organization to achieve objectives.


Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
  • Frequently sitting, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10pounds.  
  • Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 11-20 pounds.  
  • Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds. 
  • Requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergencies. 
  • May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA. 
  • May working at heights 4 – 10 ft.
