Job Description

As a H/E Operator, this position requires strong operation skills, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibility will be to operate a crane while supporting the overall operations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operating a equipment to lift, move, and position metal materials within the facility
  • Lifting and transporting metal materials using attachments such as magnets or grapples, and safely place them in designated areas or processing equipment
  • Experience with skid steer, mobile crane, excavator 
  • Loading and unloading trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and load security
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and other personnel
  • Conducting pre and post inspections of the crane, including overall crane maintenance
  • You may be asked to operator the following heavy equipment: Crane, Shear, Loader
  • During any down time, you may be required to perform general yard maintenance, assist the rail team, and perform cleaning around the yard/department circle checks of machinery

Qualifications

  • Operator certification and/or experience is required
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience operating in a heavy industrial setting
  • Attention to detail and the ability to accurately position and handle different types of metal materials
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to crane operation and material handling
  • Comfortable using various crane attachments, such as magnets or grapples
  • Familiarity with metal recycling processes, materials, and specifications is advantageous
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors and in a heavy industrial environment
