Analog Hardware Design Engineer (Entry)

NI has 2023 openings for talented, entry-level Analog Hardware Design Engineers with a Bachelors or Masters degree. As an NI Analog Hardware Design Engineer you will enjoy challenging work and have the unique opportunity to take ownership of your products by being involved in all aspects of the product development cycle, including design, prototyping, development, testing, and manufacturing production.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and create board level analog signal conditioning circuits (amplification stages, active and passive filters, Analog to Digital or Digital to Analog Converter interfaces) for test and measurement products
  • Design, simulate, and create supporting circuity (switched mode powers supplies, clock distribution, digital logic control) for test and measurement products
  • Use EDA software for schematic entry and printed circuit board layout
  • Create and execute validation plans and test code to verify circuit functionality
  • Review and approve product specifications and customer documentation
  • Collaborate with Test and Manufacturing Engineering to create and release manufacturing test code

Position Requirements

• B. S. or M.S. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, engineering physics, or physics

• Minimum overall GPA: B.S. – 3.2, M.S. – 3.5

• Strong knowledge of analog design principles

• Proficiency in both frequency-domain and time-domain design and analysis

Knowledge of:

• Operational Amplifiers

• Data Converters (Analog to Digital Converters and Digital to Analog Converters)

• Switched mode and linear power supply design

• Passive components

• Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design

• Testing and troubleshooting techniques

• Signal integrity, PCB layout, and grounding principles

• Basic digital design fundamentals

• Understanding of computers and programming languages (e.g. LabVIEW, Python)

• Interest in learning about and working with analog, digital, and computer technologies

• Strong work ethic and drive to succeed

• Apply diagnostic insight to identify technical problems, propose viable options, and apply technical solutions.

• Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products
