The Consumer Banking Services Organization was created to meet ongoing American Express Members’ financial services needs beyond the card and build upon a broader Membership promise. This recently formed team is driving AXP’s innovation for banking services, identifying Member needs’ and innovating around new digital banking products. This exciting opportunity is core to driving future success of American Express.


The Analyst Consumer Deposit Product Governance and Oversight will ensure our Consumer Deposit Products (Checking, Savings, Time Deposits and IRAs) are operating in accordance with our promises to our members as well as meeting all regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will assist in the design, development and execution of oversight and governance activities that effectively maintain strong compliance and controls while enabling the business to grow at increasing scale and ensuring product operational and regulatory capabilities are enabled and operating effectively.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Operational Excellence, Compliance and Risk partners on design of effective control tests and oversight activities.
  • Assist in the management of ongoing adherence of the deposit products with applicable Amex internal policies and standards
  • Perform compliance testing for deposit products including oversight of KRIs, and testing of PRSA controls, and RBST testing
  • Be a key member of the Process Owner Delegate team and partner with Operational Excellence and other team members to complete the annual Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) refresh process and coordination of all PRSA control testing
  • Oversight of KRI/Smart Monitoring alert response management & escalation and issues identified through PRSA Control failures or RBST testing exceptions.
  • Partner with Product Management & Development to ensure appropriate control design for new products and features.
  • Assist with the closure of Management Action Plans and Compliance Action Plans owned by Consumer Banking Product Management.
  • Promote a control and compliance mindset across the Consumer Deposit products organization and increase visibility of our control and compliance framework and results.
  • Establish strong relationships with back-office servicing, AET, compliance, privacy, legal and product partners

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience with controls, compliance, or operational excellence focused roles
  • Strong affinity for process management and quality assurance
  • A curious person committed to understanding every aspect of the consumer deposits business.
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills, with a focus on results
  • Detail-oriented and able to produce clear documentation and reports for various audiences
  • Relationship builder with strong collaboration and influence management skills who excels at bringing multiple cross-functional teams together toward common goals
  • Positive “roll-up your sleeves” attitude and ability to work with a ‘start-up’ mentality in a fast-paced environment
  • Maturity and flexibility to adapt as new organization grows and evolves

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
