ANALYST - ENGINEER - RESEARCH ENGINEER

Who We Are:

The Systems, Software, and Electrical Engineering Group within the Department of Space Instrumentation is a recognized leader in the design, test, and deployment of high reliability electronics and flight software for space flight instruments.

Objectives of this Role:
  • Work with the flight software developers and systems engineers to produce test plans required to verify the full functionality of instrument flight software.
  • Design, develop, and execute the requisite test scripts to verify the full functionality of instrument flight software.
  • Design, assemble, and certify the physical test setups needed to interface with the flight software during its verification testing.
  • Work with laboratory test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies as required.
  • Work as an integral part of the instrument team and help move an instrument from concept to orbit.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Work with senior developers to create test plans.
  • Develop software functions and test scripts in Python.
  • Design and build automated test environments for software validation and documentation.
  • Report daily/weekly status to software lead and project team.
  • Develop software for visualization and analysis of engineering data
Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or related degree with directly related experience
  • 1 years: Must possess good experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or others
  • Must have experience working in a software test environment or as a Software Quality Engineer testing embedded systems using lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, Logic analyzer, etc)
  • Must be comfortable working in both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Must have experience in C, Labview, Labwindows/CVI
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required
Special Requirements:

Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.
