Job Mission:

The Cohesity HR team is looking for an HR Reporting & Data Analyst to help advance our mission of enhancing our reporting capabilities and building predictive insights into technical dashboarding solutions and insights.

As an HR Reporting & Data Analyst, you will assess business requirements and Workday's capabilities to create reports and dashboards within Workday HCM and support development in other applications such as Tableau. You will conduct data modeling to build predictive insights. You'll also play a key role in the development, administration and improvement of HR reporting processes, data governance and data quality initiatives.

Our Team works in a highly collaborative environment with different stakeholder groups from HR, Finance, I.T., and business client groups. In this role, you will become involved in strategizing and ideation stages prior to building new solutions.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

HCM Reporting

  • Develops data-informed insights and HR employee lifecycle analysis to support and deliver strategic decision-making for HR and the organization
  • Define metrics and KPIs to support HR processes and initiatives using a variety of data sources and technologies, e.g. Tableau, Workday, or labor market data
  • Design, build, deliver, and support HR reports, analyses, insights, dashboards, visualizations, and infographics to enable decision making processes
  • Produce ad hoc analyses including benchmarking data, trends and opportunities for process, and data integrity improvements
  • Correlate data across the employee life cycle, including hiring, engagement, longevity, development, and attrition
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand broader reporting and analytics needs
  • Partner with HR systems and People Services teams to ensure high data integrity and maintenance
  • Manage the maintenance, design, development, testing, and deployment of standard and custom Workday reports in alignment with program objectives and data security framework
  • Analyze business requirements and capabilities for advanced data and reports. Document requirements, development, UAT and final deployment in a SOX compliance environment
  • Perform reporting audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Provide support activities, including researching, resolving reporting issues, and supporting training initiatives within Workday
  • Partner on requests for workforce data from the business with an eye for ensuring data privacy/security and data governance practices are in place, consistent data definitions are followed, and the best mechanisms for provisioning the data to the business are accounted for
  • Identify and recommend reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
  • Create and maintain functional HRIS documentation and documentation used for end user adoption and training
  • Stays knowledgeable and current on strategic analytical tools, techniques, strategies and practices

Data Analysis

  • Responsible for providing complex data analysis and summary reports to support management and executive decision making.
  • Show critical thinking regarding cause and effect relationships across our vast HR datasets
  • Design and deliver operational dashboards, metrics analysis/queries at agreed service levels
  • Deliver a range of analysis activities - data extraction, analysis, and recommendations
  • Act as liaison between the business and technology when requests related to analytics are requested to bridge the gap between knowledge of client requests and technology capabilities.
  • Create tools to store data effectively within the organization, as well as maintaining data analytics platforms so that data can effectively be mined for information.
  • Provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends
  • Facilitate the deployment of workforce analytics methodologies used to drive key business decisions
  • Be accountable to lead analytics modeling projects and initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and educate other coworkers on best practices for applying analytical tools

Required Skills / Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 4+ related experience in operational analysis and reporting
  • 4+ years of experience in Workday reporting, manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
  • Hands-on experience working with BI platforms and tools such as Tableau
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze, interpret, and integrate data information from multiple sources into clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data visualizations to tell compelling stories and interactive dashboards
  • Ability to oversee and deliver across multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Experience in data curation; data acquisition, cleaning, and management; data interpretation and analysis; and the presentation and communication of reproducible results in an engaging manner
  • Integrity, advanced professionalism, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee information
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and presenting data in a simple and engaging way
  • Experience and knowledge of HR and Employee data
  • Strong ability to build and query off of relational databases
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Preferred Skills / Experiences:

  • Understanding of many Workday modules and data architecture, Workday business object model
  • Workday reporting certification
  • Workday BIRT experience
  • Workday Prism experience

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a minimum base salary starting at $118,000/year. Bonus, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity may be eligible for this position. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible for benefits including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.
