Analyst Supply Chain III S&OP

Job Summary:

This S&OP Analyst role is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of the S&OP Process each cycle -inclusive of all meetings, process steps, and resolution of gaps. This role requires a high level of project management skills and meeting facilitation that drives towards the execution of key business decisions. Responsible for clearly articulating and elevating issues and metrics to executives and S&OP leads/senior sponsors. Responsible for having a deep understanding in the various processes that make up S&OP – Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Product Planning, Excess and company financials. This role serves as a change agent helping to drive the continued growth and maturity of the S&OP Process as well as holding stakeholders in the process accountable to metrics and processes. This position regularly interfaces different parts of the organization, regularly working with Manager and above corporate and region leadership.

About the Role:

  • Market Communication - With minimal direction, interfaces regularly with market and region teams on current and future inventory positions, inventory challenges, and supply updates. Proactively provides weekly inputs and general updates to the market’s promotional, out of stock and critical inventory reports as the primary contact between the market and the Supply Chain. Drives ongoing maintenance and creation of region-specific communication tools and established processes to meet customer’s ongoing needs. This includes roll-out and cross-functional training. Leads review of inventory and promotion requests from global markets and elevates to supervisor as needed.
  • Inventory Analysis - Helps to protect the inventory levels of all markets locally through daily analysis, and reporting. Collaborates with partners to ensure new and existing regular line promotional items are available to support market launch. With minimal direction, works to understand and interpret the potential impact supply constraints and delays can have on inventory levels. Based on analysis, provides data-driven recommendations and carries out solutions, often through leading other individuals and teams. With the goal of minimizing obsolescence, drives the execution of established plans in coordination with key stakeholders in the Supply Chain and NPD organizations. Reviews inventory and promotion requests from global markets independently and follows through on any subsequent actions. Will be asked to compile data and lead weekly or monthly inventory meetings for department and division. Elevates to supervisor as needed.
  • End of Life Management - Completes, analyzes, and actions against regular reporting that identifies the inventory levels and financials of phase out, expired, Limited Edition, and slow-moving inventory that are reaching end of life. Participates in financial decision making related to these areas. Works to ensure an obsolete part has been properly updated, dispositioned, and no longer active throughout Mary Kay’s global Supply Chain systems. Through partnerships with supply chain, NPD and market/regional teams, drives the effort to minimize the impact of obsolescence and actions plans. Will be asked to lead meetings and create reporting for leadership review and approval.
  • Processes and Metrics - Develops and utilizes established reporting tools to track and action against key indices regarding sales, inventory levels, slow moving inventory, and forecast accuracy to service the promotional and regular line product needs of market partners. Leads the effort in working with international markets and cross-functional domestic partners to obtain critical information needed to accurately analyze and identify market requirements. Creates and presents reports that help leadership accurately represent specific Supply Chain positions with other cross-functional leaders. Recommendations and action plans tied to metrics are expected. Continually leads reviews of existing tracking tools and processes with the goal of identifying and implementing improvements that better serve business needs. Prepares and participates in special projects often. Participates in onboarding presentations to new employees as part of our established program. This includes participating in the on-going maintenance of onboarding materials. Will be asked to mentor or onboard new employees on day-to-day job responsibilities.
  • System - Has advanced understanding of Mary Kay’s various supply chain planning and reporting systems. Proficient in ability to secure inventory information from the various systems that is needed to complete job tasks. Can independently troubleshoot and find answers to questions using the various systems and their features. Often helps others navigate the system and resolve issues. Will be asked to maintain forecast, miscellaneous inventory set up, and global allocation. Proactively works to ensure data integrity throughout Mary Kay’s supply chain systems with a focus relating to specific work tasks. Maintains a focus on highlighting areas for efficiency improvement and drives collaboration with cross-functional partners on solution development and implementation.

Skills & Experience:

Education: Bachelor/University Degree in Supply Chain Preferred

Experience: 5+ years in Supply Chain

1. Must have analytical and mathematical skills to be able to analyze diverse inventory scenarios.

2. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interface with other functional areas in the company and international markets.

3. Must be PC literate and proficient in Excel functionality in order to prepare various reports.

4. Must possess strong organization and time management skills to work effectively.

5. Must be able to think innovatively to help solve complex inventory related problems and make suggestions for process improvement.

6. Must have an advanced working knowledge in Mary Kay Inc. Business Systems (WMS/JDE/GPSPro/Agile).

7. Must have an advanced understanding of supply chain processes for domestic and international markets.

8. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to support global needs.
