Analytics Engineer

Our data team is core to BridgeU. We are responsible for collecting information from universities, making sure it is accurate and complete, transforming and loading it through the data pipeline into our product and, combined with our recommendation engine, provide students with insights into their prospects. We are also involved in helping the business understand our current student engagement data and draw insights that inform product development and the company strategy.


We are looking for a Analytics Engineer to complement our team composed of data scientists, data engineers, and data collectors. You’ll be the owner of the data warehouse schema and responsible for maintaining and expanding our Extract Load Transform (ELT) from multiple data sources into our data warehouse for analytics purposes. Coming up with clever ways to combine data from different sources to strengthen our data driven decisions making and business. And collaborate with engineers to design and maintain our analytics tracking plan, ensuring full coverage of the platform and out of platform activities. Finally these analytics are visualised by you trough Looker with LookML from our BigQuery data warehouse, with the end goal of creating all required visualisations and dashboards for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers, product and commercial teams
  • Configuring and maintaining data warehouses
  • Modelling data into insightful schemas
  • Cleaning and transforming raw data into consumable information and business logic
  • Ensure data quality and integrity, as well as ensuring data privacy
  • Documenting business logic and data definitions
  • Ensuring data models are running reliably and fast in the production environment
  • Developing dashboards, explorations and visualising data for the whole business
Requirements
  • Relevant previous work experiences and/or similar roles
  • Fluency in writing DBT
  • Experience using BI tools like Looker, any others are a plus
  • Experience managing Google BigQuery data warehouses
  • Experience with SQL and database design
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate analytics requirements into actionable technical requests
  • Commercial awareness in order to understand stakeholders challenges and identify needs beyond the immediate
It’s a plus if you have:
  • Experience with Fivetran
  • Experience with Amplitude
  • Familiarity with Multi Tenant systems and SaaS
  • Fluency in Python and its common data manipulation libraries
