Join Fish’s Boston or Minneapolis team in our fast-paced Practice Systems Department as an Annuity Assistant.

How Will You Make a Difference?

  • Timely and accurately update annuity actions in the firm’s docketing system once our annuity service has been instructed to pay an annuity or when reminders are sent to clients.
  • Provide annuity cost estimates to clients upon request and according to department guidelines.
  • Review and respond to reminders from foreign associates regarding upcoming annuity deadlines.
  • Assist Senior Annuity Paralegals with any client-specific requests regarding their annuity portfolio.
  • Timely review and approve invoices from foreign associates regarding annuity payments in a timely manner.
  • Work with Accounting Department on monthly invoicing and according to firm and department guidelines and turnaround times. Assist with inquiries of legal staff, paralegals, accounting, and/or clients.

What Will You Bring to the Table?

  • Skills and knowledge of administrative support as normally acquired through technical training or the equivalent experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications necessary and ability to work with other firm software. Knowledge of ProLaw or other database software beneficial.
  • 1-3 years’ administrative support experience, preferably in a professional services environment. 1 year job experience necessary to gain an understanding of policies and procedures and effectively operate office equipment with minimum supervision to carry out routine duties.
  • Ability to read and write to proof and perform minor editing or routine law office correspondence and legal case matters. Ability to proofread typed materials for grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment and contribute to effective team relationships.
