Full Stack Engineer - Backend Focused

It’s time that payments work for merchants, not the other way around. Ansa is building a branded wallet solution to increase customer retention and unlock new growth opportunities.


Our best-in-class closed-loop-wallet as a service enables payment experiences akin to the Starbucks balance, the Clipper card, Steam Wallet, and Uber Cash.


With Ansa, our merchant partners have increased revenue over 25% and seen over 50% higher customer retention. We are convinced that we are the last piece of the puzzle in driving delightful loyalty experiences with our slick payments product.


Engineers on our team work on new product initiatives and help scale our payment infrastructure to millions of processed $ volume. You’ll work closely with our existing customers and cross functionally with our product designer and go-to-market roles. We are post revenue and are excited to rapidly grow this year. From building out our in-store payment offering, growing our developer platform, to spearheading our robust analytics and reporting products, there’s a ton of exciting work to take on!


🤔 What you will be doing?
  • Build robust, scalable systems of record for money movement.
  • Work closely with our initial customers to design and integrate our APIs.
  • Build core partner bank integrations.
  • Helping scale up our cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and launch enhancements to our incentives engine, insights, and financial ops products.
  • Own end-to-end design, implementation, and release of features.
  • Design and implement engineering processes.
  • Prototype new ideas and iterate towards the ideal user experience.
  • Contribute to our engineering infrastructure.
  • Help grow our engineering team 🎉


👋🏼 About you
  • You are able to independently own and drive projects and features end to end. This is likely achieved through having 4+ years of building scalable, impactful products.
  • Based in the SF Bay Area (or willing to relocate!) and excited about working closely in-person with a tight-knit team.
  • Innately curious and brave enough to consider new payment paradigms or verticals for applications, can navigate low information environments.
  • Execution oriented, excited by the high-ownership nature of joining a team at this stage.
  • Interested in building a top class engineering culture from the ground up.
  • Appreciates and looks for elegant solutions but understands trade-offs of robust designs/engineering vs. moving fast.
  • Experience building fast, reliable cloud applications.


😊 Nice to haves
  • Operated at a growth stage startup before.
  • Familiarity with Golang web frameworks, AWS, Postgres.
  • Experience in building one of these areas: core ledgers, money movement platforms/services, and merchant facing APIs for in-app/online POS.
  • Bonus points if you have experience in mentoring other team members, and have previously worked closely with designers .

$140,000 - $210,000 a year
The ultimate salary extended to a qualified candidate will hinge on various factors, including, but not restricted to, the nature and duration of job-related experience, industry-specific experience, and other relevant considerations.
