Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Events, the Events Program Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development of high-quality educational programs for Anthology’s global user conference, regional events, and other programs as required. This includes developing timely educational themes and tracks that support Anthology’s corporate goals and initiatives while reinforcing our commitment to our clients. Working with cross-functional teams and the external program committee, this professional will focus on delivering high-impact training and knowledge sharing.

 

This position is key in the driving of event best practices and exceptional program execution while leveraging knowledge and experience to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with vendors supporting company events. This person will also drive engagement, collaboration, and management across a matrix organization, external vendors, customers, leadership and peer level staff to maximize event outcomes that support multiple goals and objectives. The role will also support managing the relationship with event vendors in Anthology’s regions and ensure alignment with overall quality and event branding.

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Developing pertinent educational programming in partnership with a team of subject matter experts within Anthology’s organization; managing the call for papers process, session scheduling, and speaker management
  • Leading communications and timeline for speakers (clients and internal) and program committee throughout the engagement
  • Managing event’s website structure, timelines, and content
  • Managing the development of a robust digital program guide (online and mobile app)
  • Working with creative and digital teams, vendors and venue to develop on site signage and directional plans for events
  • Inputting, monitoring, and managing Asana (or other project management tool) tasks related to any program/session, signage tasks
  • Managing program space allocation and A/V needs for sessions
  • Supporting the management and execution of Global/Corporate events focused on driving best practices for negotiation, logistics, communication and vendor management
  • Developing and driving processes for quality and robust agenda/programs; understanding and training teams on the event software program, driving to ensure YOY program innovation at event
  • Supporting Corporate and Go to Market program plans (aka conferences, tradeshows, sponsorships, virtual and special events) as assigned
  • Contributing to assessment of future year search options for programs, providing summary of findings and making recommendations
  • This role requires approximately 25% travel

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of event management experience
  • Proven experience in developing and driving successful event programs that drive awareness and provide demand generation opportunities
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Outstanding project management and coordination skills with ability to track multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables
  • Knowledge of total marketing mix including program management, marketing communications, events marketing, content marketing, digital channels, media tools, program logistics, social media and audience generation tactics
  • Background in content/knowledge management, digital asset management, content marketing, and education-related technologies
  • Experience with conference and virtual technologies, including online programs and mobile apps, such as Cvent
  • Proven experience drafting/creating compelling content to support website and email communications
  • Ability to excel and drive results in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Self-motivated, innovative, collaborative, multi-tasker, and creative
  • Proven ability to manage >300K budgets
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business
  • Cvent Event Management and attendee hub certification
  • Virtual Event Platforms (i.e. Hubilo, Cvent Studio, etc.)
  • Collaborative project management tools such as Asana
  • Education industry experience

 

Pay range is $62,000- $76,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
