User Experience Designer

The role:

Are you a seasoned and innovative Service Designer or User Experience Designer looking to join our team? As a Service Designer/User Experience Designer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional online user experiences, making your contribution essential to our success and the cultivation of customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elucidate and document complex systems requirements.     
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, developers, and stakeholders, to define project goals and deliverables.
3. Conduct in-depth user research and leverage analytics to inform and validate design decisions.
4. Create Service Design artefacts from research findings such as journey maps, and service blueprints to inform design decisions and guide the development of user-centered solutions.
5. Develop and iterate on wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts.
6. Ensure that all digital touchpoints and physical spaces are aligned with the user-centered design principles and consistently meet accessibility standards.
7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of service design and user experience.
8. Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers and team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
9. Advocate for user-centric design principles and help build a strong design culture within the organization.
10. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions through user feedback and analytics, making data-driven improvements.
11. Conduct usability tests and quality assessments, leveraging analytics to refine the user experience.
12. Strategically plan and execute new design concepts while optimizing existing user interfaces.
13. Engage with clients to comprehend their business objectives and goals, applying service design methodologies.
14. Develop technical and business requirements, prioritizing intuitive, user-centric solutions.
15. Infuse creativity with a keen awareness of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
16. Maintain adherence to typography and graphic design style standards.

Requirements and Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Service Designer and UX Designer.
2. Proven expertise in creating wireframes and prototypes
3. Expertise in user-centered design principles and methodologies, information architecture, and interaction design.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
5. Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
6. Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and a passion for creating innovative, user-centric solutions.
7. Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
8. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions to non-design stakeholders.
9. Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG) and their implementation.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience working with government bodies.

Compensation: 
The typical hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary/wage may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
