Data Engineer, 6 month contract with possibility of going to hire. 100% RemoteJob DescriptionResponsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions leveraging Azure Data Services and other data technologies to meet business requirements. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in Data engineering technologies, Script development, database release management tools, platform support, and Azure data services. Core function is to enable our customers by partnering with the other technology teams (Security, Full Stack devs, Infrastructure) to design solutions that automate, harmonize and create the best one stop shop experience.• Build strong relationships with Full Stack Teams, translating platform enhancement needs into wide ranging, long-term solutions whilst fostering and enabling associated culture change.• implement data solutions leveraging Azure services such as Azure data factory, Databricks, Azure migration services, Azure databases for data integration, transformation, and orchestration.• Design, develop, enhance and maintain tools, systems and software solutions to meet the organization's integrity and availability requirements• Develops enhancements, system/solution measures to ensure solutions are fully integrated. Validates current and future-state architectural models to assess impact across all technology systems.• Develop data masking scripts and techniques to ensure data privacy and security in compliance with regulatory requirements.• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of data solutions.• Participate in incident resolution processes driving restoration and repair of service-impacting issues• Support platform services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing automation tools and frameworks, capacity planning as well as operational and security reviews prior to launch• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.• Collaborate and create documentation and training sessions to support customers and operational support personnel.• Define non-functional requirements as part of the product and software lifecycle to influence the new designs, standards, and methods for scalable, highly available distributed systems.• Conducts technology evaluations and re-engineering activities to support continuous improvement activities.• Identify and drive opportunities to improve operational workflows.• Implementation of proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and self-healing systems.• Knowledge of Power platform such as PowerBI, PowerApp, Power Automate is a big plus.• Knowledge of Powershell scripting and Terraform is a big plus.• Stays updated with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering and cloud world• Manage key internal and cross functional and stakeholder relationships to ensure expectations and opportunities to collaborate are transparently communicated.• can work flexible hours to accommodate global responsibilities including after-hours support and collaborate with teams in different time zonesRequired Education• Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experienceRequired Experience• 7+ years relevant experiencePreferred Competencies/Skills• Intermediate knowledge in the various Database Platforms; SQL, DB2 LUW, Oracle• Expert skills in SQL, Query optimization, database security, DB performance tuning, database design and development, database migrations, ETL development, business analytics• Proficient in Azure data services such as Azure migration services, Azure data factory. Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Databases• Proficient in Data masking tools such as TDM and creating data masking scripts• Intermediate knowledge in building PowerBI reports• Intermediate knowledge in Power platform (Powerapps, PowerBI, PowerAutomate)• Intermediate experience in advanced batch & PowerShell scripting• Working in an Agile environment• Orchestration tools such as Terraform• Instrumenting and monitoring production systems utilizing monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace• Providing customer-driven solutions, support or service• Establishing, using and supporting integration and communication protocols between applications, databases, and technology platforms• Inter skills in Data management skills, DB Release management tools• Clear and concise communication skills• Ability to work under minimal supervision• Attention to details• Effective collaboration and time management skills• Planning and organization skills• Strong negotiation, analytical, quantitative, commercial awareness and problem solving skills• Desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic environmentEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
