Appeals Coordinator Rep II

Must reside within 50 miles of Altamonte Spring, FL - Hybrid Role

As an Appeals Coordinator Rep II, you are responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing claims in accordance with policies and claims events to determine the extent of the company's liability and entitlement. .

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Confirm prescriber/ patients request to appeal and verify the information needed by the plan for an appeal and where to submit.
  • Gather all necessary information from prescriber office to complete the appeal.
  • Notifying appropriate staff of approved/denied medications.
  • Process/reverse online claims as required.
  • Responsible for all follow up phone calls to the insurance company or prescriber office for status of appeal or request for additional information.
  • Responsible for all documentation of appeal statuses into CPR+ progress notes.
  • Update sales staff with pertinent information.

Additional Duties:

  • Conducts investigation and review of customer grievances and appeals involving provision of service and benefit coverage issues.

  • Contacts customers to gather information and communicate disposition of case; documents interactions.

  • stablished by either regulatory/accreditation agencies or customer needs.

  • Identifies barriers to customer satisfaction and recommends actions to address operational challenges.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year experience in health insurance appeals, prior authorizations, or billing including customer service experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Good verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal skills and PC proficiency strongly preferred.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Specialty pharmacy experience
