This position focuses on designing, developing, and managing cloud infrastructure for healthcare data, with a particular emphasis on reliability, scalability, security, and compliance within the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in AWS GovCloud, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and a deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and security best practices.This role is fully remote but requires availability during EST business hours.Responsibilities• Design, deploy, and manage robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS GovCloud and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources, ensuring alignment with security and compliance standards.• Implement and manage SRE practices, including system reliability, monitoring, and incident response, to ensure high availability and performance of cloud services.• Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring smooth operation, scalability, and adherence to security best practices.• Collaborate with development teams to establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, focusing on automated testing, deployment, and continuous delivery.• Implement and enforce security best practices across all cloud infrastructure and application deployments, with a focus on ensuring compliance with federal security standards, particularly within AWS GovCloud environments.• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and application deployments. Optimize resources for cost-effectiveness and performance.• Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using industry-standard tools to ensure real-time visibility into system performance and health.• Work closely with DevOps, development, and third-party vendor teams to streamline software delivery processes.• Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure design, configurations, and SRE processes. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.Required Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.• Active Secret security clearance preferred, or the ability to obtain one.• Active CompTIA Security+ certification. AWS and/ or GCP certification strongly preferred.• 10+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a focus on GCP and AWS cloud platforms.• Strong proficiency in developing infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, with a focus on security and compliance.• Extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), including setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for data integration development using GitLab CI/CD.• Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized applications, with an emphasis on security best practices.• Deep understanding of security best practices in cloud environments, particularly in AWS GovCloud, with experience in implementing and managing secure cloud infrastructures.• Strong understanding of Java backend development, particularly with the Spring Boot framework.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues with cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and security configurations.• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Desired Skills and Qualifications• Previous experience in healthcare IT, with knowledge of healthcare data standards such as FHIR and HL7.• Experience working in an Agile development environment with tools like JIRA for project management.• AWS and/or GCP certification(s) are highly desired.• Familiarity with API integrations using Mulesoft Anypoint.• Prior experience working in a consulting environment, particularly within Federal healthcare agencies such as DHA, is a strong advantage.Additional InformationApplicants must be U.S. Citizens.
