We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic school team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is passionate about delivering exceptional payroll services to our staff. With responsibility for processing payroll for over 110 employees—including full-time, seasonal, exempt, and non-exempt staff—this position is crucial to ensuring smooth operations within our organization.Key Responsibilities:Complete Payroll Processing: Manage semi-monthly payroll for 100+ employees, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.Employee Time Management: Oversee timecard approvals, secure necessary signatures for 25 hourly employees, and verify all payroll data for accuracy.Collaborative Support: Partner closely with the CFO and Controller to ensure payroll journal entries, benefits deductions, and garnishment calculations are properly recorded and reported.Compliance and Reporting: Assist with audits, prepare census reports, and manage live scans/fingerprinting for faculty and parents as needed.Administrative Support: Provide clerical assistance, including support for school events and other HR-related tasks.Data Management: Utilize Excel to verify stipend calculations, manage benefit deductions, and handle wage garnishments, overpayments, and final checks.Essential Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.Strong knowledge of payroll systems and procedures.Proven ability to work independently and deliver accurate results with minimal supervision.Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with faculty, administrators, and business partners.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at resolving issues.Experience in the education or nonprofit sector is preferred.Proficiency in Excel and Paylocity (or similar payroll software).EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled.The Know Your Rights poster is available here:https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023-06/22-088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdfThe pay transparency policy is available here:https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay-transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdfFor temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, the Company is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.We are committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities.
