Role Summary:

We're looking to expand our amazing group of machine learning researchers and engineers as we tackle some of the toughest problems in marketplace engineering. Your role will be that of the applied researcher, but also that of the hands on innovator and the product and business facilitator. You'll be leading projects from ideation, through solutioning using AI techniques, to deployment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on a range of natural language processing and semantic embedding problems, ie. unsupervised phrase modeling, zero shot language model query generation, web-scale knowledge distillation through transformer architectures, graph neural networks, and link inference. You have robust experience dealing with real world NLP systems, are a strong team player, and feel as comfortable with deep networks as you are with statistical ML.

What you'll be doing:

• You'll be researching: take on a problem area, evaluate state of the art solutions, become the in-house expert on the subject and how to utilize it for our challenges
• You'll be innovating: solve tough NLP problems, work with big data, small data and common sense to create out of the box solutions
• You'll be collaborating: be a primary contributor to the design and implementation of our core NLP-powered products. Work with other data scientists, engineers, product and sales to drive products from ideation to deployment
• You'll be learning: our offices span the globe; you'll be learning from and teaching other veteran data scientists and engineers

What we're looking for:

• Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Physics/Engineering or equivalent relevant field
• At least 2+ years of hands on experience working as an NLP Data Scientist.
• Diverse experience with ML, having worked with deep networks, model development, statistics, data visualization, optimization, and software development
• Familiarity with modern NLP techniques (BERT, GPT-2 etc.), and modern NLP libraries e.g torchtext, (pytorch)-transformers
• Experience collaborating cross functionally in the development of machine learning products (e.g. FE and BE Engineering, Product, Sales, etc.)
• Demonstrated production grade software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or used contributions in open source repositories
• Self-starter, independent and innovative
