As the sales director, you will grow sales across the United States and support Arcadis' overall growth, developing and driving strategic growth, you will collaborate across GBA Places business divisions and focus on client offerings across the following sectors:• Advanced Industrial Facilities• Public Facilities• Retrofitting & Repurposing• Architecture & Urbanism• Smart Sustainable BuildingsReporting Lines: The GBA Places United States Sales Director reports directly to the GBA Places Sales Director. The GBA Places Sales Director is a member of the Global Growth Executive Leadership Team (ELTGLT) of Arcadis.The GBA Places United States Sales Director is a member of the North America Places Leadership team and has a dotted line to Business Unit (BU) directors in the United States, covering the following divisions:• Architecture & Urbanism (A&U)• Advanced Process Manufacturing (APM)• Engineering & Consulting (E&C)Role accountabilities:GBA sales strategies and growth:• Build a strong growth (sales and solutions) team to achieve our ambitious growth in the region.• Deliver the GBA Places United States annual Net Order Intake (NOI) goal at target As-Sold Margin.• Drive collaboration and synergies between A&U, APM, and E&C, and cross GBA• Manage the cost of sales of the overall GBA to meet cost of sales targets.• Ensure the development and implementation of account-specific growth strategies for the GBA Key Accounts (at a minimum) significant within the region. Develop appropriate KPIs and sales targets and review schedules for accountable sales team in coordination with the GBA Places Sales Director and GAM Officer.• Manage the GBA Places United States sales pipeline through standardized global processes and actively participate in GBA strategic pursuit strategies and reviews.• Promote and drive cohesion of the three Places Divisions in the region (Places - US & Canada, A+U, and APM) in responding to market needs.• Align approach to Key Client growth in the region - including diversification of service offerings.• Support the implementation of a seamless delivery model to ensure coordinated pursuits and delivery for global accounts.• Manage the GBA sales pipeline through standardized global processes and actively participate in GBA strategic pursuit strategies and reviews.• Responsible for price setting and effective bidding process within the GBA (Pursuit-to-Win).• Embed PSET as a structural and mandatory component of GBA sales and worked closely with the Global Commercial Excellence Officer to stimulate the use of PSET resources across the GBA.• Provide market intelligence to identify market opportunities and investment areas for both sales and potential M&A to GBA teams and to CGO organizations.• Work with the Commercial Excellence Officer to develop and implement new business models and apply new commercial skills.• Ensure sales teams are equipped with effective "Go to go-to-market strategies" developed in conjunction with the Global Solutions and Service Leaders, Global Commercial Excellence Officer, and Global Marketing officer.Build strong relationships and create successful teams:• Manage regional GBA sales professionals, including global solution, and sector, and sales leaders (as appropriate) and country GBA sales leaders. Ensure coordination and collaboration with global and country key account and city program and global sector leaders managed by the Global Account Management Officer to achieve GBA targets.• Emphasize and drive strong collaboration with regional BADs and Practice Group Directors to ensure alignment of growth priorities with operational capability and delivery quality.• Support the sales training and Build strong and long-lasting relationships with the GBA key accounts and their clients, including acting as an Executive Sponsor, representing Arcadis in the market for the relevant GBA, and supporting and advocating cross-selling across countries and GBAs.• Implement commercial capability development needed to mature the United States sales organization and sales training programs in coordination with the Global Commercial Excellence Officer.• Develop a professionalized sales team and organization in coordination with the CGO and ensure succession planning and career building.• Ensure active participation from the GBA in company-wide programs such as executive sponsorship, client experience programs, commercial excellence, and marketing campaigns.• Develop a professionalized sales team and organization in coordination with the CGO and ensure succession planning and career building.• Ensure a proper mix of full-time sales (dedicated account leadership) and sellers/doers to meet sales growth objectives.Key Shared Accountabilities:• Collaborate with counterparts in other GBAs to create cross-GBA offerings for key clients, as well as with other GBAs in the region.• Work with account Account Managers to build and maintain relationships with key clients.• Work with solution Solution directors Directors on market intelligence to avoid duplication.• Work with the people function to support the recruitment of key sales positions.Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree with significant experience in the United States market to opportunity, pursuit to win, and account and client management for a significant business area, division, or global P/L, within a multinational engineering or professional services firm.• Proven track record of developing and implementing strategies to profitably grow client accounts• Building lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to position Arcadis as a supplier of choice whilst demonstrating significant leadership capability and the ability to inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose, drive change, and navigate through resistance.Preferred Qualifications:• Master's Degree• Experience in working in a thought leadership role, using your interpersonal and storytelling skills to inspire and ignite teams around common goals and objectives, and combining strategic thinking with execution skills so that planning and progress are effective and measurably impactful.Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days of PTO that accrue per year. This position is eligible for participating in a company bonus program. The salary range for this position is $234,000 - $280,000.
