We are seeking an entry-level Stone Drafter to join our team and embark on an exciting career in the stone fabrication industry. As an entry-level drafter, you will work closely with experienced stone designers and fabricators to learn the intricacies of stone drafting and develop the skills necessary to create accurate technical drawings and templates. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience, refine drafting abilities, and contribute to the creation of stone designs and fabrication documents.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior stone designers and drafters to create accurate and detailed stone drawings and templates, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Assist in the preparation of technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant drafting tools.
Learn and apply industry standards, specifications, and fabrication techniques relevant to stone drafting and fabrication.
Support the design team in the development and modification of stone concepts, offering input and suggestions.
Review stone designs and specifications for potential issues or conflicts, under the guidance of senior professionals.
Coordinate with project team members to ensure accurate representation of design intent in the drawings and templates.
Assist in incorporating revisions and modifications into existing drawings and templates as directed by the project lead or designer.
Maintain organized drawing and template files, ensuring proper documentation and version control.
Participate in site visits and surveys to gather accurate measurements and information for the drafting and fabrication process.
Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in stone drafting and fabrication
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent education required. Additional certifications or vocational training in stone drafting or fabrication will be considered a plus.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or specialized stone drafting software, is desirable. Familiarity with other drafting tools is also beneficial.
Basic understanding of stone materials, fabrication techniques, and installation processes.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and precise technical drawings and templates.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with stone designers, fabricators, and other team members.
Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards professional development in the stone fabrication industry.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively, while adhering to project timelines.
Problem-solving mindset and willingness to seek guidance from senior professionals.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to perform site visits and surveys, including lifting and measuring stone materials.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure managing changing priorities, meet deadlines, and be tactful and diplomatic.
