Job Description This position is primarily dedicated to pre-award management but may include limited post-award functions. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the development, preparation, and submission of sponsored project proposals to various funding agencies. A key responsibility of this position involves coordinating the work of teams that write and submit education and... workforce development grants, cooperate agreements, and related awards. This includes helping teams develop and manage timelines and related writing assignments, and prepare grants, proposals and associated budgets in accordance with grant/sponsor standards and requirements. The position works closely and in conjunction with appropriate Edson College deans and the Director of Research Initiatives, Support, and Engagement (R.I.S.E.) to identify and prioritize grant and proposal opportunities in support of strategic initiatives, objectives, and goals. Working Environment • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking. • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. • Regular review of completed tasks. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience; 1 of which are in project management, or any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Essential Duties • Reporting to Director of Research Initiatives, Support & Engagement. • Identify and research potential funding sources, including federal, state, local, and private entities that align with Edson priorities. • Independently respond to and initiates correspondence regarding matter pertaining to assigned functions. • Stay updated on new funding opportunities and changes in grant guidelines. • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential funders through regular communication and updates. • Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences to network with funders and stay informed about trends and best practices regarding workforce funding. • Liaison with Edson Development Officer in outreach to foundations and nonprofit funders. • Collaborate in assembling teams to write workforce grants. • Work with team to develop high-quality grant proposals, letters of intent, and supporting documents. • Maintain an up-to-date database of grant prospects, deadlines, and application requirements. • Facilitate pre-award submission including identification of necessary project lead, project coordinator and other personnel and their responsibilities. • Assists subrecipients with questions related to completing necessary paperwork, i.e. subrecipient commitment forms. • Liaison with sponsor and internal offices and personnel to ensure accurate postaward management and reporting. • May assist faculty with limited post-award management duties, which includes mandatory technical and financial reporting to sponsors, project account reconciliation and expense forecasting, and financial document processing. • Plans, develops, implements, and manages a project team through complete task definitions and work requirement identification and assignments. • Works closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, budget, and outcomes. • Identifies critical resource expertise and targets appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s). • Establishes and continually monitors/manages project expectations with team; assigns tasks and identifies issues for resolution to ensure optimal team effectiveness. • Prepares and maintains all project status reports and schedules; tracks milestones/deliverables, critical paths and dependencies; re-sets expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes. • Responds to all inquiries regarding project status; prepares and responds to all regulatory reporting/filings to ensure compliance. • Works collaboratively with stakeholders, leadership, and other related staff to define and identify all required project infrastructure including, but not limited to: space, build/reconfiguration of facilities, equipment, technology and infrastructure to ensure timely availability for successful launch and ongoing project operations. • Prepares all post-project reports, budget allocations and summaries/filings to ensure timely dissemination of information to all interested parties.
