They interpret complex data from various sources for analysis and decision-making using analytic skills and a solid structured query language (SQL) background. They are instrumental in mentoring and collaborating with other data analysts across the company on both complex division needs and potential cross-organizational needs.What You’ll Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)Work with division leaders to understand business needs for ongoing and project-based analytics.Support various mathematical, statistical, and simulation techniques to answer business questions within specific focus areas.Gather and analyze data; assess data validity and usability; and synthesize data into analytics datasets to support key initiatives.Collaborate with Data Stewards and Data Governance Committee on data definitions, accuracy, completeness and errors.Utilize data discovery, diagnostic, descriptive analytics and data mining techniques to analyze data; review data results to ensure accuracy; and prepare results and observations.Utilize advanced data analytics and statistical techniques to detect, analyze, and respond to fraud patterns and trends.Demonstrate advanced SQL techniques for producing datasets, views, and data mining. Continually improve data management methods; proactively suggest opportunities to avoid problems and anticipate future data needs.Code, test and maintain reports and dashboards; identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in data; and determine additional data needed to support insight.Present findings and observations to leadership for the development of recommendations.Apply data visualization techniques to create dashboards and reports to summarize various datasets and/or identify trends and patterns; continually update and maintain the dashboards and reports.Advise and mentor junior analysts on advanced analysis techniques.Collaborate and partner across divisions with other data analysts, enterprise data science and business intelligence teams.Understands and complies with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to the job duties. This includes but is not limited to completing compliance training and adhering to internal procedures and controls; reporting any known violations of compliance policy, laws or regulations; and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.Responsibilities:Toolbox for Success:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics or related field or equivalent relevant work or military experience.5 years of combined experience in a statistical programming language, structured query language and relational databases.3 years of advanced customer or business analytics.Experience in data discovery, data modeling, ETL and data cleansing.Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.Preferred:Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau).Experience applying data science and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.Demonstrated ability and desire to learn and continually expand skill sets.Relevant experience in fraud, risk, payments or related fields.Physical Demands:Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
