Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.000000 | Full Time | Variable Hours/Variable DaysPosition SummaryThe Sterile Processing Trainer and Compliance Auditor is responsible for operationalizing and maintaining successful education programs for Sterile Processing staff. This subject matter expert develops and facilitates in-service training for sterile processing technicians and is responsible to train and orient new staff. Conducts and documents competency and skill evaluations and assists with on-line learning opportunities. In addition to planning and leading training initiatives, this role performs safety, quality, and standards compliance audits, keeping department leadership apprised of results, and uses data to identify and develop targeted opportunities for staff development in all areas of sterile processing.Key Responsibilities• Develops, maintains, and conducts training programs, competency assessments, and standards compliance audits to include developing, maintaining, and conducting training programs, competency assessments, and standards compliance audits; organizing the training program for new hire orientation, staff development, and on-the-job training; and planning, coordinating, and leading internal in-services and educational programming in sterilization and decontamination, instrument inspections and assembly, and other areas identified as necessary.• Conducts compliance auditing and reporting to include regularly reviewing sterilization records for completion and accuracy and informing manager of discrepancies or trends; assisting the Supervisor in analyzing trends in department and individual performance data and uses information to adjust and refine training programs as needed; and maintaining a monthly log of audit results and error ratios and providing reports to the Manager.• Maintains compliance with employee standards to include adhering to Asante's behavior standards regarding conduct, attire, and attendance; and advocating for department staff at all levels when issues or concerns are identified and reporting them immediately to the Manager.Position QualificationsEducation• Completion of Sterile Processing Technician Program (military, on-line/Purdue, vocational technical School, or community college program) is required.• Associate's degree in applicable field, preferred.Experience• Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified sterile processing technician is required.• Advanced knowledge of sterilization practices, instrumentation, decontamination processes, medical/surgical supplies, and patient related equipment also required.Skills & Abilities• Thorough knowledge of departmental procedures and processes.• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with staff.• Excellent computer skills.Licensure/Certifications• CSPDT: Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician -or- CRCST: Certified Registered Central Service Technician, required upon start.Total Rewards Package• Earn a competitive and progressive salary.• Benefit from health plans that focus on health and wellness including medical, dental, vision and wellness beginning within 30 days of hire.• Plan for your future with a retirement package that includes up to 6% employer contribution.• Experience a healthy work-life balance with our generous earned time off (ETO).• Continue to enhance your education through our tuition reimbursement and tuition repayment plans.• For our Flexible Workforce positions (on-call/per diem) the Total Rewards Package includes earning an additional 15% on top of the base wage for the flexibility required.
