We are seeking a passionate IT Business Analyst to join our growing team. As a key member of the Global IT team, you will play a crucial role in digitalizing our research labs in Heidelberg in our current labs, but also be a part of planning for our new lab setup in the coming years. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional, global teams working together to achieve extraordinary results.
You will be part of the Global Lab IT Product Team which consist of 4 people based in Heidelberg, Germany and Hellerup, Denmark. The team is known for relentlessly delivering to our scientific internal customers and utilizing the latest trends in technology to enable business strategy. The team is fast paced and collaborative. 
You will report to Jakob Monajemzadeh Thrane, People Leader in Global IT, and to Ivanna Rosendal, Global Head of Digitalization, from a functional point of view. Both are based in HQ in Hellerup, Denmark. You will be based in Heidelberg.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Enabling data management, automation and AI in the lab space.
  • Understanding the business process and mapping it to the technical offering
  • Collaborate with scientists to identify their needs to improve existing technology offerings as well as identify new needs. 
  • Work closely together with technicians supporting lab instruments to identify improvements for data management and process optimization in the labs. 
  • Train and help end users get most out of the lab applications offered. 
  • Collaborate closely with other teams in IT to ensure that the lab scientists get access to all relevant technology offerings. 

Qualifications and Skills:
You hold a relevant academic degree – minimum a bachelor’s degree from a natural science, IT, Digital, Engineering or something completely different – and 5+ years of experience from a related role in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment. 

Furthermore, you have:

  • Extensive understanding of lab applications and solutions such as ELN and how they can make a difference for a research lab.... but you also know the challenges.
  • Hands-on knowledge of translating strategy to digital and IT in life sciences.
  • Experience in driving the successful delivery of digital products and platforms
  • A broad understanding of lab processes and ideally hands-on experience working in a lab.
  • You have been working in an agile team, relentlessly improving your working practices.

To succeed in this role, we also expect you to be a self-starter who can see white spaces and opportunities and jump in to move things forward. Our team needs to scale to support the ever-growing demands, so we need team members who both can act pragmatically, and solution orientated for the short term, and at the same time are able to think long-term to ensure what we do today can grow to support us in the future.

Travel: 10 – 25 days per year.
Office: Heidelberg, Germany.
