Assembler

JOB SUMMARY

Perform all assembly operations necessary to assemble assigned parts in accordance to provided specifications and processes.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare sub-assemblies by installing bearings, spacers, and keys.

• Prepare gear housings to fit sub-assemblies and record the measurements.
• Test the gear box after completion for vibration and noise.
• Assemble the motor to the gear box. Check the specifications of the motor to match the print.
• Inspect shaft and blades dimensions according to the prints.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Working knowledge of or the ability to learn to use a micrometer, depth micrometer, dial indicators and other precision measuring instruments.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• The ability to:
  • Perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
  • Interpret basic manufacturing mechanical blueprints.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • 5S area daily.
  • Communicate to peers.
  
  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years’ experience as industrial mechanic

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time and operate machinery and/or lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, bend, stoop, walk or work in high precarious places. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and ability to adjust focus. PPE is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and equipment of various sizes. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
