Position Summary:
Set up, operate and, troubleshoot various types of equipment while controlling quality, maintaining low scrap levels, and meeting production deadlines. The Assembly Technician will effectively operate under the direction of the Production Supervisor and Lead Assembly Technician.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • Technicians are responsible for all department-related tasks as directed by the department Supervisor/Lead or an appointed representative.
  • Meet or exceed defined production performance standards.
  • Retrieve necessary components and stage them at the appropriate machine stations.
  • Effectively operate all machines within the production line.
  • Understand and be able to effectively handle all caliber changes.
  • Be able to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues at each station.
  • Perform quality checks accordingly for each machine/station of the process.
  • Report any potential quality issues to operations management.
  • Perform specific shift tasks related to work area preparation and end of shift work area cleaning and organizing.
  • Properly log and complete all production paperwork.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required for specified activities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and understand verbal directions.
  • Work well in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Must be able to operate all machinery within production Line.
Working Conditions:
  • Physical abilities and Requirements.
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of lunch and break periods.
  • The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing area where frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
