Assistant Account Executive

Hill+Knowlton Strategies is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Account Executive, within our expanding U.S. Technology Practice. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that supports clients through various tasks such as writing diverse materials, developing, and managing media lists, maintaining project trackers, providing media monitoring and coverage reports, pitching, and addressing a wide range of client needs.

Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and skillful writer who can manage deadlines for multiple clients while still creating quality work. We’re looking for a solution-oriented team player with a positive attitude and a proactive approach.


This position can either be based in California (Costa Mesa, Los Angeles, San Francisco region)


Here’
s What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Monitoring relevant industry news for daily/weekly client monitoring reports
  • Drafting press materials and press releases
  • Maintain media lists, research reporters and craft media pitches
  • Providing research inputs and data analysis, ensuring that work aligns to methodologies and project timelines
  • Proactively participating in team, staff and client meetings and proactively seeking and sharing relevant information when appropriate
  • Conducting media outreach and scheduling client interviews with reporters, staffing interviews when needed
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members across the network
  • Learn through a rich curriculum of professional development and training opportunities


What You’ll Need to Get Here:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in PR, Journalism, Media Studies or related field
  • Previous corporate communications and/or public relations; agency-based internship experience preferred
  • Superb writing and editing skills across a variety of platforms and content forms with a keen eye for detail (i.e.., experience drafting press releases, white papers, op-eds, talking points, social media content, and more)
  • Analytic report writing skills, including analyzing measurement data to produce actionable insights and recommendations
  • Professionalism, poise, and confidence in participating in a variety of situations including client meetings, internal executive meetings, and media events
  • Interest in purpose-driven communication and storytelling
  • Experience with tools such as Cision and TV Eyes preferred, but not required


The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $
35,000 to $75,000 Range. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
