The Assistant Buyer supports the Buyer in forecasting, planning and implementing strategies in order to achieve or exceed sales goals and profit margins for a department. The Assistant Buyer will also help the Buyer develop, implement and track promotional strategies in an effort to generate additional sales, move slow selling goods and maintain healthy inventory levels.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting the buyer with the selection of the right product mix.

Write, place and track purchase orders.

Ensure products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price.

Preparing competitive retail and pricing strategies.

Compiling reports on product performance and statistics.

Assist the Buyer in forecasting, planning and implementing strategies in order to achieve sales and profit margins.
- Assist the Buyer in negotiating and liquidating corporate excess, while achieving profit plans.

Prepare and analyse weekly style and category reports.
- Assist in ensuring proper assortment mix by managing class plans and key item sheets weekly.
Qualifications:
- Microsoft Office including a comprehensive knowledge of Excel.
- Strong Analytical skills, including knowledge and use of Retail Math.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively across a number of key internal departments/ groups.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

1-2 years recent relevent experience.
