Assistant Center Manager

Position: Assistant Manager/Lead Sensei

Part-Time Up to 25 hours/week | Weekday Afternoons, Evenings, and Saturdays (occasional Fridays)

Who are we?

Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. What are we looking for?

We are looking for an outgoing and energetic Code Sensei and Assistant Manager at least 18 years of age to join our management team at Code Ninjas Germantown as we work toward our goal of providing a fun and safe learning environment for children while delivering exceptional, personalized attention to families. Responsibilities include:

  • Undergo additional training in safety, company & center policies, customer service, core curriculum, and more
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings and recurring individual meetings
  • Assist with planning and delivery of programs, beyond those written in curriculum
  • Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
  • Oversee day-to-day coaching, activities, and student engagement
  • Work with children to determine skill sets
  • Provide feedback to parents after working with student and through ongoing progress reports
  • Follow opening/closing duties daily including cleaning, quality checks and more
  • Clean center areas throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
  • Report to center director on your own progress and projects, as well as the progress and projects of the students
  • Train on and learn full operational procedures, including but not limited to: Conducting center tours, enrolling new students, navigating the center’s online platforms, and conducting basic point of sale transactions
  • Serve in a leadership and supervisory capacity in the absence of director of operations or other manager
  • Provide customer service and communicate with parents on an as-needed basis
  • Lock up and perform standard closing procedures
  • Unlock and perform standard opening procedures
  • Provide administrative and organizational support for the center director
  • Plan and/or assist with special events and activities within the center
  • Other duties to be determined by the director of operations and mutually agreed upon

MUST HAVES:

· General open availability to open the center for evening student by 4:00pm Monday-Thursday, and by 8:45am on Saturday mornings.

· Openness to scheduling additional hours for events when necessary

· Creative and new ideas to bring to the table

· Willingness to work with customers and answer questions and to serve in a managerial capacity, setting examples for other staff members, and managing basic behavioral issues when need arises

Preferred Characteristics:

· Willingness to go with the flow and roll with the punches, all while keeping a calm head

· You MUST be a people person and a good conversationalist with a can-do attitude toward customer service

· Desire to remain with and grow with the company for more than 6 months

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Germantown, MD 20874: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
