Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life

Thank you for your interest in employment with Southeastern Louisiana University.
Southeastern Louisiana University's Office for Student Engagement invites applications for the position of Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life. This position provides advisement, training, leadership, and support to the National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC), the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Collegiate Pan-Hellenic Council (CPC) and Order of Omega. This includes the following areas: risk reduction, leadership development, academic program support, accountability, community service and philanthropy, crisis management, documentation, and university policy interpretation.

Other duties include attending appropriate and required fraternity and sorority functions and campus events to maintain visibility/approachability. Evening work hours (and some weekend work hours) are essential to the success of the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process and develop long-term goals and annual objectives related to Fraternity and Sorority Life. Provide presentations and training to appropriate campus offices and academic departments on programming, student organizations, and fraternity and sorority culture. The AD will also be responsible for appropriate annual reports (grades, organizational assessments, developmental plans; etc.).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited university

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1 to 3 years of experience working in higher education or in a related field
Previous experience working with the fraternity and sorority life population

Demonstrate a positive attitude, self-motivation, ability to learn quickly, flexibility, and commitment to teamwork.
Team-orientated and possess excellent communication skills to work with a diverse population of students.
A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, and administration.
