Position Details
The Development and University Relations Department has an opening for an Assistant Director of Stewardship and Events Management. Reporting to the Director of Volunteer Engagement and working closely with the Senior Director of Advancement Services, the Assistant Director of Stewardship and Events Management supports the Development and University Relations team, providing specialized expertise in coordinating local meetings and events that steward existing and prospective donors and volunteers. In addition, this role is also responsible for planning revenue-generating events for the University.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinating logistics for fundraising events including Top Shot and Minarets at Sunset, ensuring that each event meets both its mission and fundraising goals; and other events as designed.
  • Assisting with the planning of presidential transition events, donor receptions and luncheons, including the Minaret Society Dinner.
  • Preparing event collateral, maintaining event webpages, managing event logistics, working with volunteer committees and internal stakeholders and post-event evaluations.
  • Maintaining files for each event with comprehensive planning details. Communicate event details and results with identified internal stakeholders.
  • Maintaining yearly calendar of stewardship activities.
  • Working on special stewardship projects as needed and assigned.
  • Supporting other Development events that provide the best opportunities to showcase the University, secure additional complementary annual revenue, and help identify, engage and steward donors.
  • Assist in staffing affiliated entity Councils and Boards (Family Association, BoC, BoF).
  • Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One-Three (3) years experience in managing events (preferably, but not necessarily in higher education), or comparable experience.
  • Excellent planning and organizations skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to work with groups and organizations, both internal and external to the University.
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Travel, evenings and weekends as required.
