The Assistant Facilities and Security Manager for the Miller Learning Center is responsible for providing administrative, logistical, and security support to facilitate the work of all facets of the building. This includes but is not limited to monitoring the access control and alarms for building operation, supervision, scheduling, and payroll of student security staff, communication of building or security issues with appropriate campus units, assisting in the coordination of events, support of special events and projects as they arise, and various administrative tasks in support of the building operations. It is expected that incumbent will interact regularly with key personnel, such as the building partners (CTL and EITS), Campus Reservations, UGA Police Department, and Environmental Safety Division. This position upholds the mission of the MLC and its internal partnerships with EITS and CTL by establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with regular communication and collaboration.
This individual reports to the Facilities and Security Manager/Assistant Department Manager of the MLC; work is performed independently on the basis of a general assignment of the responsibilities. In the absence of the Facilities and Security Manager, the Assistant Facilities and Security Manager fulfills those duties within existing policies and procedures; The Assistant Facilities and Security Manager works evenings and on weekends as needed and to be recallable for duty within an appropriate time frame in order to respond to after-hour emergencies or security issues. This position involves a great degree of autonomy in all aspects of job responsibilities, including but not limited to the exercise of quick, independent, and sound judgment and initiative in applying resolution to emergency situations that arise.
