Assistant Manager, Sensory R&D

We are currently hiring an Assistant Manager, Sensory R&D in Boston, MA .

The Assistant Manager is responsible for leading a team of sensory professionals in at a top-tier sensory program in a fast-paced environment. This role will support sensory professionals by coaching and mentoring them to uphold an excellent sensory standard. A keen eye to find and clearly communicate roadblocks and potential solutions that are preventing scientific excellence to sensory leadership. The Assistant Manager will be expected to understand projects across the team to make sure there is consistency and information sharing. This person will also be expected to collaborate across teams cross-functionally.

Key skills include an advanced knowledge in Sensory evaluation, team building skills, applicable knowledge in statistics, the ability to make decisions, strong problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills, mathematical, verbal and written communications skills.

What You'll Brew:

  • Establish excellent team-wide communication protocols, including concise and informative reports
  • Find and communicate roadblocks and potential solutions that may prevent scientific excellence to sensory leadership
  • Understand projects across the team to ensure consistency and information sharing
  • Take on sensory projects as a sensory professional when project load demand requires
  • Communicate team standards and what is needed to meet these standards
  • Thoroughly understand and implement plans for large complex project across the team
  • Analyze and interpret sensory data, including generating statistical results and graphs for completed sensory data
  • Willingness to travel 10-20%

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Sensory Science, Food Science, Statistics, Psychology, or another related field with a minimum of 3+ years of sensory experience or a Bachelors Degree in Sensory Science, Food Science, Statistics, Psychology, or another related field with a minimum of 5+ years of sensory experience
  • Project leadership and mentorship skills
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven success multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Compusense sensory software
