Brief Job Description
The Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Creativity and Change Leadership Department. Additionally, this faculty member will pursue scholarly activities associated with the field of creativity, such as conference presentations, engage in scholarship of teaching, publication of research reports. The Assistant Professor is also expected to provide service to the department, college, and larger creativity community. With the respect to service to the department, the Assistant Professor will assist with curricular development and framework for a proposed Doctorate in Professional Studies and participate in the online course development requirements.
Required Qualifications
1. Earned doctoral degree;
2. Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice in the field of creativity;
3. Demonstrated knowledge of research methods;
4. Evidence of organizational skills;
5. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching in higher education;
6. Evidence of excellent communication skills;
7. Creativity related publications; and
8. Ability to work cooperatively in a small, interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate creativity courses using diverse modalities;
2. Evidence of excellence in teaching qualitative and/or quantitative research methods;
3. Evidence of scholarly pursuits, such as conference presentations, refereed journal publications, chapters, curriculum development, etc., in the field of creativity;
4. Demonstrated history of developing positive relationships with students and supporting student learning;
5. Experience with diverse students such as first-generation college students, adult learners, students from diverse cultures and countries, etc.;
6. Direct experience with advanced academic programs and faculty specifically in the field of creativity;
7. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in the field of creativity with respect to educational and/or scholarly activities; and
8. Professional and field experiences that enhance diverse disciplinary perspectives.
