Assistant Project Manager- Construction

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager- Construction

Reports to: Director of Retail Expansion

Job Summary:

Utilizes background in construction project management, engineering or design to support LaserAway’s rapid nation wide expansion program. This position will serve in a PMO environment to support efforts in planning and design, estimating, scheduling, stakeholder management, procurement support, monitoring and controlling, oversight of third party vendors, and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the PM, helps to manage multiple projects ac ross various stages in the irrespective project life cycles in an organized manner, and effectively communicates escalations, priorities, and statuses to project teams and leadership
  • Attends consultant/vendor meetings to record meeting minutes and assist follow-up
    action items
  • Assists in construction administration(managing RFI's, Submittals, CO's, etc.)
  • Assists in review of drawings for completeness and best practices for project manager
  • Reviews project schedules to identify schedule opportunities to maintain or exceed milestone targets, and communicates risks and delays
  • Conducts periodic travel for site visits to monitor construction, and participates in the store set up process
  • Observes general compliance of as-built conditions with the contract drawing sand specifications
  • Maintains high level of vendor contact and communication, as directed by the PM
  • Prepares daily & weekly project status reports for project manager approval utilizing appropriates software functions
  • Assists with procurement & ordering through the confirmation of electrical, lighting,
  • and HVAC equipment takeoffs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Business or a related field, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Embraces change and maintains strong attention to detail, while demonstrating an analytical approach to problem solving
  • Must have excellent verbal & written communication, and presentation skills
  • Maintains clean & neat appearance, professionally representing LaserAway in all interactions both virtually and in-person
  • Proficient utilizing software applications; Google Suite Applications, Smartsheet, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • General knowledge of the permitting processes and familiarity with construction best practices, including commercial tenant-improvement construction methods, and general building codes
  • Ability to perform and supervise general labor such as the loading and unloading boxes and equipment, and mounting miscellaneous fixtures(TV mounts, posters, etc)
  • Travel required up to 20%

Physical Requirements:



Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
