St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Assistant Registrar. The Assistant Registrar, manage technical support and functional applications for the Office of the Registrar operations, including registration components, counter service personnel, National Student Clearinghouse related processes, and data entry functions.


For consideration: Bachelor's degree required. Three or more years relevant work experience including report writing, use of spreadsheets to produce reports, transmission of electronic files using FTP, and related experience. Data management experience with Banner or similar ERP database required. Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite products. Experience with JavaScript and HTML. Experience with reporting tools such as Argos. Ability to deal with confidential student data and records very important. Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and heavy workload very important. Ability to handle difficult situations and enforce unpopular policies with diplomacy and tact. Three years of experience in a university setting preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, committed service attitude, and strong attention to detail required.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Generate registration related documents, reports, and statistics.
  • Manage electronic transcript transfer services.
  • Assist office staff in resolving complex records and registration issues.
  • Research and develop student driven applications related to registration and the Registrar's Office.
  • Oversee counter operations and supervise assigned staff.
  • Effectively communicate university and Office of the Registrar policy and procedures to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Work on technical and database projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist with the resolution of data migration issues.
  • Manage the conversion of HARD transcript files.
  • Serve as secondary to the Associate Registrar for report generation for the Office of the Registrar as well as University administration, faculty, and staff.
  • Generate, edit, and manage Office of the Registrar Smartsheet applications for use by the office and the university community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
