Sphera is seeking a Sustainability Consultant with 3-5 years of Sustainability and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) experience to join our North American Sustainability Consulting team.
In this role, you’ll help shape the future of how we support companies around the world in reducing the impact of their products and operations, and in the development of their sustainability strategy with a key focus on decarbonization. Our Sustainability experts help organizations develop, design and execute integrated sustainability strategies with full transparency to help companies make smarter, more sustainable business decisions. Through Sphera’s combination of software, data and expertise, we are in the unique position to support companies in their sustainability journey as they set sustainable targets and map out their path to net zero emissions.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Leading or collaborating on multiple concurrent consulting projects addressing LCA, Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), or corporate sustainability strategy.
Using powerful tools like our industry-leading LCA For Experts software, and its vast warehouse of data, to create best-in-class life cycle models and inventories of products and services, and the Sphera Cloud Corporate Sustainability platform to help shape client strategy and goals.
Interfacing with industry-leading, Fortune 500 clients, Sharing the results of your work by leading meetings, delivering presentations, etc.
Writing ISO 14040/44 compliant reports documenting your project work
Developing and delivering consultative sustainability services, advising clients to help them operate more sustainably and reduce their greater environmental impact, including strategy development focused on net zero, climate, carbon, and ESG,
Conducting in-depth analysis of our client’s energy, water, waste, and emissions,
Collaborating with Sphera team members across different specialties and regions to innovate, develop best practices, and deliver world-class results,
Travel will be required as necessary on a project-by-project basis (up to 20% of time, primarily US, Canada, and Europe)
Key skills and experience
1-3 years of experience in dedicated sustainability, ESG, or LCA role
Experience in interacting directly with a broad group of external stakeholders
Demonstrated passion for sustainability and innovation
Aptitude for learning new software, previous experience with GaBi a plus.
Good oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate issues, give presentations, and prepare formal written reports.
Self-motivated and organized; able to simultaneously work on multiple assignments and to work both independently as well as on teams.
Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
