Associate Corporate Finance | Zuyderzee Capital

For our client Zuyderzee Capital, we are looking for an Associate Corporate Finance. As an associate within Zuyderzee you are part of the advisory team where you will play an active and integral role in various transactions and assignments. As a member of the team, you will be involved in supporting our clients in a wide range of strategic, sell-side, buy-side, capital raising and related situations. In your role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team and build broad international transaction experience.

Zuyderzee Capital is a privately owned independent specialized financial services company, which originated in 2016. Based in The Hague, the firm has its focus within the transportation and infrastructure sectors, where they offer a broad range of services, including financial advisory, M&A, restructuring, debt equity capital advisory, asset warehousing and direct investments. Operating in a global environments with clients and investors based in Europe, Asia and The Americas, Zuyderzee continues to expand their services, including the provision of lease financing to European ship-owners.

With a hands-on team of currently eight professionals, Zuyderzee possesses deep sector knowledge and have a broad, diverse mix of investments, structuring, finance, advisory and asset management expertise. By scaling up the team as needed with the relevant experts depending on the nature of the transaction/project, the result is an all-round, high-level execution of the services they provide.

Your profile
Within this ambitious and international oriented organization, Zuyderzee is seeking a professional with an analytical mind, attention for detail and ability to think strategically. In order to thrive within this dynamic and entrepreneurial environment and be able to communicate clearly with customers as well as colleagues, an involved and open personality is required. With your creative and proactive problem-solving skills as well as your entrepreneurial profile, you know how to find your way through the organization. The ideal professional recognizes itself in the following:

• University master degree, preferably in economics, finance or investments;
• Minimum 3-7 years of work experience within a transaction or corporate finance team, consultancy or private equity;
• Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excell modelling skills;
• Strong team player with an ability and aptitude to step in any function when necessary;
• A "can do" mentality with the ability to think and work independently, ask questions and foster a steep learning curve;
• Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding and ultimately rewarding environment;
• Well organized with the capability to adhere to stringent timetables;
• Excellent quantitative proficiency in combination with strong presentation skills;
• Experience within an international environment is a pre;
• Fluency in English and preferably one other language.
